What You Can Report

• Factual errors — a statement on the page that is wrong
• Outdated information — laws, phone numbers, or program details that have changed
• Broken sources — a source link that no longer loads or points to the wrong document
• Incorrect sources — a source that does not support the claim it is cited for
• Sources that are no longer official — a cited source that is no longer the authoritative publication
• Incorrect jurisdiction — information attributed to the wrong state or labeled with the wrong jurisdiction
• Broken links — any link on the site that doesn't work as described

Every article also has its own "Suggest a correction" option — use whichever is most convenient.

How Corrections Work

1. Step 1: Report You tell us what is wrong — a factual error, outdated information, a broken source, the wrong jurisdiction, or a broken link.
2. Step 2: Review Our team reads the report. Submissions are triaged — nothing is published automatically.
3. Step 3: Verify We check the claim against an authoritative source (government site, court, agency, or established professional source).
4. Step 4: Correct If the report is confirmed, we fix the page — accurately, not cosmetically.
5. Step 5: Publish The corrected page is republished with an updated last-reviewed date.
6. Step 6: Record change We record the resolution in our internal log so corrections are traceable.

We do not silently rewrite history: substantive corrections to factual claims update the page's last-reviewed date. If we cannot verify a report against a reliable source, we say so rather than guessing. For more detail, see our editorial policy.
